MVPOA Board Accomplishments 3rd Quater 2008
Posted: Friday, November 7, 2008
The new board has decided to provide quarterly updates to keep the homeowners informed on a more regular basis. Our philosophy is to maintain what we have to keep the subdivision looking great, make decisions that will increase property values where possible and continue to save for some of the larger issues coming in the future.

We have also established a requirement to make sure we get at least three quotes when spending over $1,000 of homeowners money. We meet every month, if you have any questions or concerns or would just like to sit in on a monthly meeting, feel free to send us an email.

Treasurer

  1. Liens were placed on the homes that have not paid their homeowners dues. The homeowners names were also placed on the website as voted on at the July meeting.
  2. Established a two signature requirement for cashing any POA bank CDs.
  3. Updated the approved signatures for the safety deposit box & all CD's to the current officers & removed all the names from previous years.
  4. All bills have been paid and checking account is up to date.

Pool

  1. The new treasurers found that the water bill had tripled from last year. It turns out the pool had a leak. It was leaking what appeared to be thousands of gallons of water costing the homeowners money. Though difficult, the board was able to locate and fix the leak. It took scuba divers to take care of the problem but the pool should be ready to go next year.
  2. All the pool lights that were burnt out were replaced and the light timer was fixed in order to have lights come on at night at the pool. They also had 2 additional lights installed at the corners of the pool house to shine on the pool at night. This was to prevent the vandalism and the numerous amounts of late night fence jumpers that we had this year at the pool.
  3. A new pump was installed and the pool house has been winterized.

Grounds

  1. Recently several volunteers and both Grounds Board Members worked in our park trimming trees and removing 32 Scotch Pines that are susceptible to disease. Prior to their removal, 33 hardwoods were planted so we have a nice mix of trees in the park.
  2. There have been several requests about a bridge connecting Monarch View to Eagle Creek. This has been looked at several times and unfortunately it is not in the best interest of the community.
  3. Standard maintenance, mowing, trimming, spraying, fountain upkeep, etc.

Activities

  1. Fall Fun Fest was a big success. If you didn’t attend you missed a great time. Thanks, Jeremy!
