Posted: Wednesday, July 16, 2008
We would like to invite everyone to our annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 from 6 pm — 9 pm. This year's theme is “Give Crime and Drugs a Going Away Party!” This event is held in the grass area between the Community of Christ Church, 1101 NE Independence Avenue and the Lee’s Summit Christian Church, 800 NE Tudor Rd. This year’s event will feature pony rides, moon walk, rock climbing wall along with a bicycle safety rodeo where we will have a limited number of free bicycle helmets to give away.

We will also have free hot dogs, chips, and water. Along with those fun things there will also be several agencies that are designed to help people handing out free literature. These will include but not limited to Hope House, Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault, Lee’s Summit Medical Center, St. Luke’s East Hospital, Parents as Teachers and other service organizations. Life Flight will also be landing at 7:30 pm for everyone to see. Plus the police department, fire department, KCPL, Lee’s Summit Underwater Rescue and Missouri Search and Rescue K-9 will also be there with some of their equipment for the public to see. So, come on out and bring your family and enjoy a fun night compliments of the Lee’s Summit
Police Department and National Night Out National Sponsor Target.

Play it safe, play it fun. Be an active part of your community.
