A Timely Warning from the Lee's Summit Police
Posted: Monday, March 24, 2008
I am not sure if everyone saw the news over the weekend, but Leawood is reportedly having some burglaries where they think the suspects are casing the homes by knocking on the door to see if the residents are home and when it is answered making up some reason for being there. Again, please stress to your residents that if this occurs at their residence to get as much info (safely) on the person and vehicle the suspects are driving and call the police. If they are selling something they need to have a solicitor permit from the city which will be a bright pink card. If they don’t have the card then they are violating the law and we want you to call us. Again, any suspicious activity needs to be reported to the police. It is ok to call the Police! That’s the basis for the Neighborhood Watch program. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me.
